So there he is. I am happy with how he turned out overall. His Parchment loin cloth thing turned out better then I thought it would. The shoulder pads are Ironclad Dreadnought leg plates. The Crozius arm is a Thunderhammer arm with the hammer head removed and a dark angel bit added to the top. The combi-bolter is from the terminator librarian blister and the arm its attached to is a stormshield arm. Some greenstuff work to make the two mesh was required.
I highlighted the armor with Dark Angels green. I saw this done before and I really liked it so I tried my best with it. I kept the edging/highlighting dark. Also The pictures aren't the best. I am making an effort to clear some space and set up a mini wanna be photo booth for the miniatures. That will take some time though.
Now I know that the model has an imperial eagle on it in the back and I left it. Maybe he was given an honor by the emperor during the crusade? Who knows. Also there are 2 little crux terminatus type crosses on him. As they are not the standard Crux in look I figured these Templar type crosses would be fine to leave. And as for the combi-plasma... well they are the first legion and plasma has been seen in the novels and art work so its not unreasonable.
That is it for this guy. I really like how he looks. Instead of making my own shoulder pads I'm going to go with standard dreadnought leg plates for the rest of the army for the most part. Until next time...

Hey man. Looks great, but I am a little confused. I thought the Death Company was a post heresy incarnation. I may be wrong!
Deathcompany is. But this is a Dark Angel Chaplain not a Blood Angel.
Deathwing is the all terminator 1st company of the Dark Angels. I honestly am not 100% sure if pre heresy Dark Angel Terminators were called Deathwing but it is a good way to talk about an all terminator Dark Angel Army pre-heresy and post heresy. Hope that helped
THe model looks great, and history wise thers no 100% clarification but based off one book they traded in their black armor and beganwearing the white after the heresy when a squad and a (I believe)librarian (back when the DA were conisdered native americans.) took on a planet full of genestealers. They painted themselves white and called themselves the deathwing to represent the home culture. WHich was against the codex astrates but they did it anyway. Not to spoil the book but they all die and the white armor DW history gets put into play. Via the other books preheresy the DW terms and ravenguard would be in black and were the oldset most noble worthy knights of Caliban. I know big post. But awesome model.
Also the books are,
Deathwing, Descent of Angels and Fallen Angels.
Hi. The Deathwing did not exist pre-heresy. It was created after a conflict with Genestealers on a world that was being used as a recruitment world at the time. This was in a short story collection called Deathwing and was one of the oldest books released for 40k novels (pre-black library even!).
I'm not even sure if its still in print at the moment or if you'd need to search for an out of print copy...
aaah someone beat me to it as I was typing ;)
Yea. the DW is mentioned as a menacing creature in Descent of Angels so it could stand to reason a group of elite terminators would be called that. The Deathwing color scheme change is in the Deathwing book.
Im just going to call them deathwing for ease of reference as people will know what im talking about.
Sorry, I meant deathwing./ Not death compnay. Deathwing are a post heresy incarnation no?
Well kinda. I mean they had termiantors pre heresy. Its as was said in earlier comments. The whole concept of the deathwing hunting the fallen is totally post heresy.
Really impressive. At first I didn't even realize he was the standard Chappy in termie armor. Very subtle and nifty arm conversions.
Kudos.
Thanks!
In tales of heresy the short story call of the lion states that the raven wing have been formed it is reasonable to assume that the death wing could have been formed at this point also
